چکیده

The recently developed Lorentz Oscillator Model-inspired Finite-Difference Time-Domain (O-FDTD) is one of the simplest FDTD models ever proposed, using a single field equation for electric propagation. We demonstrate its versatility on various scales and benchmark simulation performance against theory, conventional simulations, experimental observations. model’s broad applicability demonstrated (but not limited to) three contrasting realms: integrated photonics components nano- micrometer scale, city-wide propagating radiofrequency signals reaching into hundreds meters first time, in support 3D optical waveguide design that may play key role neuromorphic photonic computational devices.

Time-domain Electric-field Integral Equation with Central Finite Difference

In this paper, we present a new formulation using the ( ) time-domain electric-field integral equation TD EFIE to obtain a transient scattering response from arbitrarily shaped conducting bodies. The time deri ati e of the magnetic ector potential is approximated with a central finite difference, and the scalar potential is time a eraged by di iding it into two terms. This approach with an impl...

Finite-Difference Time-Domain Simulation of Light Propagation in 2D Periodic and Quasi-Periodic Photonic Structures

Ultra-short pulse is a promising technology for achieving ultra-high data rate transmission which is required to follow the increased demand of data transport over an optical communication system. Therefore, the propagation of such type of pulses and the effects that it may suffer during its transmission through an optical waveguide has received a great deal of attention in the recent years. We...

Efficient outdoor sound propagation modeling with the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method: a review

The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method, solving the inhomogeneous, moving medium sound propagation equations, also referred to as the Linearized Euler(ian) Equations (LEE), has become a mature reference outdoor sound propagation model during the last two decades. It combines the ability to account for complex wave effects like reflection, scattering and diffraction near arbitrary objec...

Development of a Finite-Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Model for Propagation of Transient Sounds in Very Shallow Water.

This finite-difference time domain (FDTD) model for sound propagation in very shallow water uses pressure and velocity grids with both 3-dimensional Cartesian and 2-dimensional cylindrical implementations. Parameters, including water and sediment properties, can vary in each dimension. Steady-state and transient signals from discrete and distributed sources, such as the surface of a vibrating p...
